Our Team

John May is the founder of May Center Advisors. In short, Mr. May is one of the most active shopping center disposition specialists in the United States. He is personally responsible for in excess of $1 billion in shopping center transactions. Prior to May Center Advisors, Mr. May served as the Partner/Director of Mid-America Real Estate's Investment Sales Group. His nineteen years of real estate experience include seven years with Grubb & Ellis Company and three years with Arthur Andersen & Company’s Financial Services Group.

Mr. May’s clientele has included numerous pension fund advisors, REITs, insurance companies, public and private syndicators, developers, foreign entities, partnerships and individuals.

Mr. May is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. He is a graduate of Northern Illinois University where he earned a B.S. in Accountancy and was a member of the University Honors Program. He is licensed as a real estate broker in numerous states. Mr. May resides in Hinsdale, Illinois, with his wife and four children. He is a musician and a pilot. He is a Director for the USO of Illinois and enjoys supporting a number of charitable organizations.
